What each field means

Driver or company & license

The top of the receipt. Your name or company, phone, and any license or tax number tell the rider who provided the trip.

Date, time & receipt number

The trip's date and time plus a running receipt number make the ride easy to identify and reference later.

Route and distance

Pickup, drop-off, and optionally distance. Business travelers often need the route on the receipt for reimbursement.

Fare, taxes & tip

Break out the base fare, taxes or tolls, and tip. An itemized total is clearer and more likely to be accepted by an expense system.

Payment method

Cash, card, or app — confirms the trip was paid and helps you reconcile your day.

Design tip: Keep the layout compact and aligned. Long addresses can push the total off the page, so a tight format prints and exports to PDF cleanly.

Fill the template automatically

RideReceipt turns this template into a tap-to-fill form on your iPhone and iPad and exports a clean PDF in seconds. Ride receipts are free and unlimited, with no account required.

Frequently asked questions

What is a taxi receipt template?

A reusable layout with all the standard trip fields — driver or company, date and time, route, fare, taxes, receipt number, and payment — so you only fill in the details for each ride.

Does a taxi receipt need the route?

For business travelers it helps a lot. Pickup and drop-off make an expense claim easier to approve, though a fare and date are the minimum a valid receipt needs.

Taxi vs rideshare receipt — what's the difference?

The fields are nearly identical. Rideshare receipts may show a platform name, while independent taxi and private drivers use their own name or company. The same template works for both.
